Nuno Crato, was a keynote speaker at the Congreso Internacional de Alfabetización, Lectura y Escrito, promoted by the World Bank and co-organized by the Government of Mendoza, in Argentina, on the 5th and 6th of October. The President of the Board of Directors of Iniciativa Educação was invited to present the AaZ - Ler Melhor, Saber Mais program, and its ongoing implementation in Portugal.

The Congress was organized following the Bogotá Commitment, which provides for joint action by the World Bank and the Government of Mendoza in the development of basic education educational policies and practices that promote post-pandemic learning recovery. In this region, the closure of schools has put thousands of students at risk in recent years, with it estimated that four out of every five will not be able to read and understand a basic text by the age of 10.
