What professional future do students of the Electronics, Automation and Computers Technician course have at their disposal? This was the big question put forward at the event «Ser Pro: Que Futuro?», which took place yesterday at Escola Secundária da Maia (Maia High School).

The challenge was launched to representatives from EFACEC, Schneider Electric Portugal, WEG and Instituto Politécnico da Maia (Polytechnical Institute of Maia) and acted as a starting point for a larger reflection on potential careers in the area of electronics, automation and computers.

The main objective of the event was to make students aware of the opportunities that their professional course offers them - whether they aspire to directly integrate the labor market, after completing their study cycle, or intend to enroll in higher education.

The event was promoted by Iniciativa Educação, in close collaboration with the Municipality and the Agrupamento de Escolas da Maia (the school district), which together with the companies and the polytechnic are signatories of a recent cooperation agreement for the implementation of Ser Pro in this region. The agreement's objective is to promote vocational education throughout the country, while also changing people's perception about its worthiness and dignity as a professional path.
